Shallow Mount Subs

I heard the Pioneers weren't that great from Car Audio Mag. The Clarions they tested sounded better. I have heard the Kicker CVT12 and it was great. It was in one of thoes Kicker truck boxes, and for how small it was it was really lound and sounded great. The new JL's look promising. Elemental Designs also has one out.

How deep do you need a sub, because some standards are just as shallow.

How do kicker pioneer and the jl's compare to each other? One better than the other or are they about the same?
haven't heard jl's yet... i like the pioneers better than the kickers in quality and output but thats just my opinion i don't have much personal experience with them... does anyone else?

yeah true dat... those W5's are exciting i wanna hear them bad

Well I have a an extended cab truck and i would like to keep the bench seats that are in the back. So i'm looking to see if I could fit a sub or two under the back seat. But I've also considered taking out the back seat too. right now I have a Rockford Fosgate P 550.2 to power a sub or subs.

I'm still tring to decide on wether or not to take the back seats out what do you guys think?
well you can no-doubt gett way better sub-stage if you do take them out... just depends on if it is worth it to you... or look into custom boxes or maby even like jl's stealth boxes or somethin

i had a shallow preimer and pounded for a year and did fine until a few weeks now....

now im going to a new setpup with a regular 12" being downfired.

Most extra cabs have a 30/70 split in the rear seat. Just fold or remove the 30% part and mount a 12'' killer sub there. Thats what my buddie did with his 07 f-150. You get to keep some seating back there and dont have to use a whimpy sub. Im stuck, as I need my rear seats in my crew cab and can only fit 10w0's back there, well for now, those new w5 look promosing but Id have to hear a set before I committed the $.
