You cannot get it at a regular home improvement store like Home Depot or Lowes. You will need to call around to the local lumber yards. That was the cost to the general public from my local lumber yard. It is much cheaper to get it in 5x5 sheets, the 4x8 sheets will run you around $38. I can actually get the 12MM 5x5 sheets for $15.50 but that is because I work for a company that buys MDO from them.
The birch plywood that Home Depot or Lowes sells, is not the same thing as Russian Birch. The sheets H/D and Lowes sell, have a very thin top layer (almost paper thin) and I believe they only have 7 layers instead of the 9 that Russian Birch has.

That box looks like a Mr. Marv box, he does some great work.

That kind of birch is known as Birch Veneer Core. That is what we sell where I work. Much, much different than what you used it. It is just a regular piece of plywood with a birch veneer on the top.

i like the birch wood but more for the home audio enclosure. since laying a stain makes them look so good and match other furnishure.

but for car audio i just stick to MDF since it going to get covered to match the interior of the vehicle any ways. why waste the extra cash on pretty wood.

plus accusticaly even if there is an audible diffrence its going to be so small that in most cases. "when the mdf enclosure is built right" you wont notice that its built with birch or mdf.

so for HT birch is a definate yes. for car audio MDF FTW. in my opinion.

btw. that enclosure is sexy as hell. very nice cuts and i like the look of the wood grain.

3/4" real birch ply is $40> here, that's what i was gonna use.....

Front panel is Euro Birch, rest is Baltic. This is certainly Not veneer core..

Yup, you were right, stuff at home depot i quoted earlier at $40> a sheet is crap.

Gapless at carter jones is $64 8 x 4
