I heard that unit in a mazda protege with 3 sets of Kole (i think) components on a PG 6 channel amp, and HOLY HELL!!! Was really nice sounding.

The P9 is bascically the same principle as the ODR line except there are no amps in this line. It doesn't look clumsy, that Jensen link you posted looks very clumsy. And no, the P9 comes with a wireless infrared remote.

No. The ODR unit does not have any processing other than maybe bass and treble. It connects directly to the integrated amps via optical output or it connects to the stand alone processor like the P9 can. In fact, the ODR unit is worthless without a processor or ODR amp since it doesn't even have RCA preouts. The P9 on the other hand does have preamp out puts and an optical output. So basically the P9 can be used as a stand alone CD player with any amplifier or external processing via the RCA preouts or with the P9 processor via the optical output. So contrary to popular belief the P9 deck is NOT worthless by itself. It would just need external processing such as an outboard EQ and crossover with RCA ins and outs.
