When people who compete in car audio use several runs of 0/1 or 0/2 wire or even bigger to stregnthen thier electrical system and reduce voltage drop, do the typically run them inside or underneath the car. Iwould hate to have a big gaping hole in my firewall but at the same time I wouldn't want a large conduit pipe underneath my car.

Any tips from the pros?

are you competing because if not it aint worth it doing more then one run of 0/1awg to the back, I would think in the car and the seal it off with sound deadner or something so no weather gets in.

I intend to compete in street A. I was hoping this season, but maybe next season. The more I investigate, the more there is to it to be sucessful. I still intend to, just which season

I was thinking 4 runs of 0/1. I was thinking of running two PowerBass XA 3000D strapped off this battery. It is not like a car audio battery, it is used to operate hydrolic soleniods on a boom truck. quite stingy with the voltage and over 1k CCA. Hopefully, it will also start my car on comp days.

street a you will get demolished unless you can pull a 160 on the dash... btw it is 1/0 and 2/0 not 0/1 and 0/2 i dont see how you can mess that up every time you post? you can run it either through or under the car. I ran 2 runs of 4/0 one in car one out of car, i would say that you will be better off running it through the car. also for dbdrag i believe it must be a car battery... or atleast a batter that will fit under your hood in factory location w/ only modifying half of the tray iirc off the top of my head

street A wont be QUITE that high, but it'll be over a 155.

The battery has a size limit, 800 sq. in. i believe, not sure if it has to be a "car battery" though. It has to be 12v and in the stock position though.
