I was thinking about buying a Sony receiver (model cdx-gt565up) but I couldn't find any reviews on it, so I was wondering if anyone here had used one before. If so, it would be cool if someone could tell me a little more about it than what's on the website.

I'm pretty new to car audio, so I was wondering if this is a decent receiver. I plan on getting two Sony Xplod 5x7" rear speakers, and eventually a 10" Sony sub. I don't have a clue about the type of amp I need yet. I don't need to shake the mirrors or anything, but I would like a little thump. I drive a 2001 two-door Ford Explorer. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I was thinking Sony because its a little cheaper, and I've heard they make decent receivers. Anyway, lets say I have about $300 to spend on a receiver, and rear speakers. Then later down the road, $400 on an amp and sub/subs (preferably a 10" or 8" sub.)

Thanks wenn. and I drive a 2001 Ford Explorer. Corporate double din deck size, front speakers are 6"x8" 2.5" deep, rears are 6"x8" 3" deep. The sub is 8", 4" deep. Hope that helps.

One more thing, what is the difference between a stereo receiver and a CD receiver?

Id sit down and figure out exactly what all you will be installing for amperage consumption and add another 10-15% amperage useage on top of that...
