I definately like the second better... very nice setup.

My car goes under the knife this thursday, I will be using the same sub with a 1001. I know that ported box must quake, but how does is sound playing "music"? Is it very responsive? Are your surround speakers able to keep up?

i have comps in the front and back.. but b/c my car is a hatch there are some cases where i've had to turn the sub down somewhat. other than that its perfect.

now a 10 or a 12 fine but don't do that to a 13 it sounds like you're in a can

Thanks for the tip, by your reaction I think I'll be going with a ported setup also. I'll be using the new JL Audio ZR components up front and their XRs in the back door, and will post pics of the setup when it's done.
