Setup Question..

So my thump in my truck has my mind racing of what to do to the other cars lol. Been doing a little thought processing and such about my mustang.. Was trying to debate on 10s or 12s and just came up with a thought to throw out for ridicule or input. Just curious has anyone got any say as to putting 2 10s and 1 12..? Would it be worth doing? And would they be able to be wired into the same setup? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Never a good option. You always want to stick with the same size. Your subs should always be matching. Way too many variables to try and match a 12 with 2 10's. Why not 3 10's?

I honestly think 2 10s will be enough I was just wondering if it would be "reasonable" I guess would be the best word there just to get them occasional deeper hits. But with the Stang being more my daily driver I probably will be more listening to music than trying to rock my skull so the 2 10s should suffice if adding a 12 would not be a good idea.

It's all about the enclosure.... A prefab won't do what you want. You need a custom fabricated enclosure for your subs you buy, and for the tuning you want. Peak tuning of your vehicle might be nice too (if you are looking to compete).

Not competing, just want some thump since I have to add something to it to put a new CD player because it had the factory amp in it so it sounds like **** if I put a new CD in without adding to the system. I do however plan to make a custom enclosure though. Probably gonna practice making my first fiberglass enclosure with this one. Want to install it where the subs will face the back of the backseats and the back I can carpet to make it look tied into the trunk so they will never be seen unless I want them seen.

I'd do 2 12's, but until you try 2 10's and 1 12 you have NO idea if it will work or not. 99% of the forum will say don't do it, but 99% of them have never tried.

Guy on my team ran 2 12's and 2 15's, L7's in sealed boxes, did a 149.9 in the kick off 2 1500watt amps. Also louder then 99% of the forum....
