setup for s10

I want to figure out an amp and subwoofer setup for a s10 extended cab that im in the process of buying for work. i hate buying a setup, having it for a month then going out to buy some better and louder. so i want my first install to be pretty f-ing loud and just be happy with it. im not to inteligent on the whole box specs and figuring out which sub would work in the amount of space i have. (i dont need to use the back seats because like i said its mostly gonna be used for work) so the extended cab is fair game.!

looking for suggestions and ideas people would think would work. a custom box will probably have to be made so any box builders live in the san antonio, tx area? i just moved out here two weeks ago for work so dont have any connects out here.

2 15s as much power as you can afford. subs on pass side firing up and port on driver side firing up as well...or subs forward and port up on drivers side..up to you really...but I have built that exact setup several times and they get very very loud. I have also build some dual and triple 12" setups with in the same general designs and have gotten great results. It really just depends on your budget. Throw out some numbers on budget and what type of setup you would like to go with. Also what year S10, I'm guessing its a 94+

its a 2003 bro. and **** i dont really know which i prefer 12's or 15's i guess whichever is cheaper. and i guess my budget is right around 750-1000. but like i said if i can go cheaper cool! but 750-1000 is for a deck sub box and amp plus wiring. so not much money to play with but its something! im not looking for a super clean deck but something that just works and does the job

oh and if anyone is selling anything im looking for, shoot me a pm with price and details.

as dumb as this might sound i dont like the look of square woofers. lol but i mean if this setup would be the best bang for my buck then ill go for it.

any other suggestions?

Give a few and let me troll over the classifieds....please be sure to check your local craigslist as well. Some times you can find some nice things for cheap...

The ideal setup would be one or two 12s that are efficient with about 1k rms between the two. Two 12s and a 1k amp would **** up a bit of the budget but would well worth it in the end as you would/should be pretty happy with that setup.

A few options there and well with in budget even getting your mids/highs amped in the process.(Not on your list, but still all bass and no music sucks)

I would snag the 15s and the solid audio amps myself...but any mix matched setup is a good deal....shouldn't be but a little over $600-650 for all of it shipped to your door.

huh..double post some how..only pressed it once..lol anyway carry on...

Those were only a few options that were listed here on this site. Many many options here and more then likely in your area as well.

A single sub is all you need...
In some cases i would agree, however, he seems to like a bit more then some. A single sub all though if built right would be loud and sound great, he could/would be louder using more cone area and having two motors to dissipate the heat while pounding the system all day.

You should hear mine then, might change your mind.

think i would be happy with a dd9512 running at 1000rms in a perfect built to spec box?

and thanks for looking bro. ive been checking out craigslist as well as the classifieds on here. i dont get paid for another week and half so was looking for some suggestions and ideas so i could do some research in the time being instead of bam getting paid then throwing out hundreds of dollars the same day without really being 100% sure or have my mind made up.

reflecting your definitely right i do like a little more than others lol.

lakota what do you have set up?

and any box builders in the area? im just scared a local shop is going to **** me. but i guess i could always give it a try if someone is willing to come up with the specs for me based on the subs i decide to get. a pm with exact pieces needed to be cut and i guess i could paypal a thank you donation. let me know!

I or some one else on here could help with the box even setting you up with a cut sheet list. Just take it to the hard ware store, have them cut the peaces you need. And then its like a 1 hour job to finish up.

Lakota, I have had some very loud single sub setups. I have no dought yours is fairly loud. I was basing my info off him saying he always wants more...This tells me he would like to have a bit more for his situation. He drives his truck a bit, which also tells me that having more area to disipate the heat generated from playing at high volumes for a while would save him from damaging anything in the long run.

A single 9500 DD would be nice and get plenty loud. Just remember the box makes a huge difference when considering if you want to change up later. Cheaper to throw a box together then to buy new subs and/or amps.

thanks for the quick responses and i think ima go with two dd2512d4s hooked up to 1100 watt rms amp at 1 ohm.

any concerns, doubts, opinions?

oh and i know it says they can handle 500-800watts rms but is that under rated? i mean im only gonna have about 550 to each but just curious.
