Hey guyz,

I am new here as you can see. also i am new to tuning and stuff. I got myself a Sony Xplod 1000 Watt (XM2165GTX) amp and a 1200W Xplod sub (XSL121P5) the head unit i have is also sony xplod CDX-MP40. I put it in and it works fine. I need to get a deeper bass out of it, not like the one which hurts the ears but, like the one which you can feel in you stomach //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I have three knobs on the amp

1. Level adjustment control (6 - 0.3 V)

2. Low Boost (40 Hz) (0 - +10 dB)

3. Cut-offfrequency adjustment control (50 - 300 Hz)

also there is a filter switch which i have switched to LPF

this is the link where u can see the knobs and stuff...

What i wanted to know is what should i set these to, to get the bass i want

thanks a lot

The "Level Controller" is the gain (or input sensitivity). You need to set that once and then never touch it again. To properly set it, read this thread and follow the steps: http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=63933

The Cut-off adjuster is the crossover frequency for your lowpass filter (LPF). The setting on this will be install dependent. Just play with it and see what sounds best in your car. In general, it will likely be set somewhere around 50-85hz.

Leave the bass boost off (set to 0)

My main concern is that you may not get the bass you are after with the equipment you have.

Everything being said by Squeak is dead on. The most true statement unfortunately is the one I have quoted above. Good luck with your tuning, and make sure you have sound deadening in place, you will NEED all of your sound to stay within your car to get the effect you are going for.
