Settings Alpine IDa-X200

I'm coming from a Pioneer (7600) deck. And with the Alpine I can not get it to sound the way I want. Settings with bass changes the sound of the sub woofer (that doesn't happen with the pioneer)

Anyone want to list their settings?

right now i have:

Sub Sys 1/2 (tried both and didn't like it.. have it on 1 most of the time)

Sub +7

Bass (+5 2(narrow) crossed at 80 (tried 60 and narrow and wide, couldn't find something i like)

Treble (+4)

Loud off/ Defeat off

I guess my problem with it now is when I adjust vol...the sub gets too loud and doesn't sound good (at low and mid vol its cool, but its nasty when its vol is 15+)

Before I would just adjust the sub at higher vols to match. Now When I try that its just not to my favor...arggghhh I'll probably set everything to 0 and turn it to my max listening vol and adjust EVERYTHING from there.

Probly has something to do with having the bass boost so high. Seems like you've taken away quite a bit of dynamic head room and your sub is now giving out before the rest of your system. Cut the bass boost to start. Your last suggestion is the right idea but the only thing I'll add is once everything's at zero leave it there or maybe only boost by 1 or 2 only or even cut the obscuring frequency range instead of boosting the weak one. Boost puts a driver towards clipping or distortion faster than no boost.
