Pioneer DEH-P7700 question

I have the Pioneer DEH-P7700 from my last car, and it's a great HU so I'm going to use it for now until I save up for my Kenwood touchscreen. Anyway, I had a question on Aux inputs for the unit. It seems like the unit was eventually replaced with the DEH-P7700MP which is ipod compatible. I cannot find any info on the plain 7700 on Pioneers website, only the 7700MP. My question is do any of you know if the 7700 would also be Ipod compatible? The adapter is a little box like their Sirius tuner that connects to the databus port.
