settin amp

Which settin do i set my amp to if im tryin to power a set of components? amp: rf punch 500x

on the amp it has: hp, ap, lp
I'm also new to this stuff, but from what I know you should set the hp/ap/lp control to hp which h stands for high, ap is in between high and low, and lp is low for your sub. I'm still learning my self trying to set the amps to my set up right, but its a bit more complicated than I thought unless you go by ear which is what I'm doing right now. and I think I can say safely to leave the bass boost alone.

ap is all pass. This allows all frequencies to reach the speaker.

You'll want to run it on hp and set the x-over somewhere between 50hz and 120hx depending on your comp set.

Many head units will allow you to do this. If yours does, set the amp to ap and use the head unit control.

Don't mean to get off subject but which one should I turn up first on my amp? the lp control or sensitivity, I find that I get better cleaner sounding lows when I have the lp almost non existent if you know what I mean, and turn the sensitivity level up.

set the x-over first to 80hz, or so.

set the gain at it's minimum level.

turn volume of head unit to 2/3 max.

slowly turn up gain until you hear the first hint of distortion, then back off a little.

This is an simplified version of the process, of course.
