Ok... I've heard and read alot about the Resonant Engineering subwoofers... I'm not looking to go for the XXX or the MT.. just too much for me if you know what i mean //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif .... but i have been looking at the RE SX... i have a 94 Honda Accord EX... now here is the biggest question... should i go with a 2 12" SX setup.... or a 1 15" setup.... which would sound better (not necissarily looking for louder) but that is a factor.... and would the 15" even fit.... if not I'LL MAKE IT FIT...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Edit: Also what do you think about a RL-P 15" Subwoofer?

you might be able to do the RLP without an alternator upgrade...

the sx 15 would be pushing it... and the 2 sx 12s would be highly unlikey (granted youre pushing the recommended rms for each

Rl-p is more of an SQ fubwoofer than the sx's.. so it would sound a little better prolly, while the sx setups would get louder (2 12s being the loudest probably)

between the sx 12s vs the sx 15 sounding better.. its all in the install.. i dont think either would have much of an avdantage... but the single 15 owuld be cheaper thats for sure

If you're not worried about the difference in output....a single 15 is the way to go. It'll be plenty loud, saves an extra amp, saves electrical problems, saves space, and saves buying another driver.

I'd personally take the rl-p over the SX though. Though I've never had first hand experience with it, I've played around with other TC-9 drivers, and I've messed around with the SX a lot...I much perfer the sound of the tc-9. The SX is stupid loud, but isn't the greatest in the SQ department in my opinion. SQ is subjective though, so take a listen to it somewhere if you have the chance before deciding.

Dont use Type R's, SX is skull ****ing louder than Type R's

Type R's are hyped way too much

Rl-p would be the SQ choice, SX would be the SPL choice. I wouldnt do 2 12's simply because to reach full potential you would need more power, more power = more money and 1 15 is cheaper than 2 12's in the first place.

Assuming trunk space isnt of value to you, you can do a single 15 ported. Ported 15 RL-P or SX FTW!

sx is louder than R at rated powers.. but get up to 1100-1400 + rms and many people will say that the R can wang with the sxs no problem.

tommyk did a direct comparo with type r, sx, sexxx, and the sx was quietest in a couple different installs iirc...

BUT regardless... i think he should get a single 15, whether its RL-p, SX, or type R, all will sound pretty decent, all will get pretty loud, and its up to him whether he wants what mix of sq or spl, and how much power he can run with a stock elec.

PS fryman im still waiting for that dollar you owe me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So would it be bad if I used a Sealed application??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I could get a Ported application to help the response right??? And the RL-p can get pretty loud??? It will definatly be louder than what im running now

Sealed enclosures actually have the best frequency response //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SX's sound a little better sealed than they do ported, but I didn't find it was much of a change beyond a slightly better low end extension.

BTW i've heard 2 12" type R's ina ported application with a MTX 942 running them at 2Ohms... and i can say that when I used my friends Sealed Kicker CompVR's they were not much but a little louder....
