Serious question on speaker

When you buy speakers what is the most important factor to you?

Is it the performance aspect? Is it the price of the speaker? Is it the name brand?

Do you look for sound quality? Do you look at the best features for the price?

I am trying to get every ones real world opinion. With thousands of product to choose from it's hard to understand what people want out of a company.

Ford makes a Focus and they make a GT500. Does that mean Ford is good or bad?

Quality of build, reliability, impedance curve, usable frequency response, power requirements, box requirements if applicable, other's reviews, price, and just overall flexibility/usability (covers a lot of things here).

You should base your choice on the things that I posted and not just with anything less than 5 criteria really..

Buying the most expensive in most situations gets you a mediocre product with a lot of marketing to prop up the price and perceived demand.

Madisound carries some of the best speakers made for far less than mainstream name brands. Although, you need to know atleast somewhat what you're doing. A lot of their speakers are just raw drivers.

The process should be as you listed. Many people buy what is popular or what they can get cheap.

honestly for me... I go by other people's reviews. I dont have a way of going and listening to a large variety of speakers so i go by name brand, price, and reliable reviews to learn the Quality of build, reliability, impedance curve, and usable frequency response.

I love the equip. i have, the only things i will mess around with is amplifiers because i think the amplifier really has a LARGE impact on the quality of sound you get out of your speakers.

for me its,how much power it can take over rms ratings,the abilty to get loud and sound good doing it and build quality being #1 for me.
