Serious question about Bazooka's C.H.I.L. system.

I know it is not a new thing. But I was wondering. If heat is one of the biggest killers of performance and subs, why is this product not more popular? I don’t mean just with the Bazooka, but as a product in general. It seams to make sense to me. Is it just that there is so little benefit that it is not worth the trouble? I am not a fan of Bazooka (even though I have one) I was just wondering about the theory of a cooling system for a sub.

The product you've linked to is for their amps ~ not their subs.

Just checked it and it was the C.H.I.L. system, not an amp. Look again.

I think he means the link provided shows the CHIL system for amps, but you posted this in the subwoofer section.

they screw into where the pole vent would be and the cooling pump/radiator hook up to it.

same kit works for subs...you just get different plugs.

I looked into that.. my deathbox uses bazooka CHIL enabled subs.

I almost bought some orion amps that were modded to be liquid cooled.

i know this. you have to buy their kit and the sub plugs seperately.

the kit doesnt come with any.

it sounds like an interesting idea though.

it doubles the power handling for their subs. thast about all i know.. in theory it is a good idea.

There is one for their subs as well. The problem with it is that the voicecoil is what heats up and the pole piece is what is cooled by the CHIL system. It might help a bit by lowering the ambient temp in the coil gap, but it isn't going to make much of a difference. Now an amp is a different story. Now you're talking conductive heat transfer as opposed to convective cooling from cooling off the pole piece.
