Send more power to my 15" IA LI?

i have a 4 ohm dvc ia li wired to 2 ohms on a hifonics 1208d.. im giving it the maximum power i can(900 rms).. my drive to school on the weekends is 40 mins long.. i play it at full tilt during those 40 mins playing rap and i always check to see if the sub is getting warm when im done and it NEVER is.. its pretty much just the temp of the trunk..

what do u guys think about me selling my current amp and upgrading to something more powerful?

Correct me if I am wrong , but you are running the bxi1208d in a 2 ohm load, if I remember right that amp only has a single 80 maxi in the side , so max power would only be a little under 1200 in @ 1ohm load w/ 14.4 v , I would say you are probably running alot less power to it than 900 rms.

werd, amp sucks, get an amp to put out a true 600rms, mines is getting a little over 700rms and jesus christ, its friggin' loud!!

Alpine PDX makes power at 2 and 4 ohms

Audioque 1200 does some 700 at 2 ohms and its $250

Correct me if I am wrong , but you are running the bxi1208d in a 2 ohm load, if I remember right that amp only has a single 80 maxi in the side , so max power would only be a little under 1200 in @ 1ohm load w/ 14.4 v , I would say you are probably running alot less power to it than 900 rms.

ya i was just saying 900 because im not sure exactly how much im giving it but i know it isnt more than 900.. so ya it could be around 700.. its definitely over 600 tho.. the amp isnt THAT overrated

whats an amp u guys recommend i get? amp will see a 2 ohm load.. i would like to send 900-1000 clean watts.. dont wanna spend over 250.. dont want aq 1200d.. ive seen a couple people having problems with aq amps lately

your probably gonna have to spend more then $250 to see 1000 "clean watts" unless you buy used.

ok ill probably try to sell my 1208d for $100 bucks or so.. ive only had it for a month..

then ill look around at what i might be able to buy off here

if you're going for a 2 ohm load, i'd reccommend the kicker zx 1200.1

would be perfect for you.

true kicker amps are known to put out amazing power @ 2 ohms and are underrated, but i think a 750.1 will be your best bet. a 1200.1 is good for a pair of LI's
