Isnt sound produced by air movement?
Thus if >xmax=>air and >air=>volume then >xmax=>volume?

Just because it moves a lot, doesnt mean it is getting louder. My 10" kenwood moves back and forth more than my Type R, but my Type R is still A LOT louder. Hook a speaker to a wall socket, it will move a lot but wont be loud(til it blows up XD)
