I was just meaning that you average theif isnt going to have that bit usaully, because it isnt readily available at you local chain stores. It could slow them down, they may see the screws and move on. Or usaully they just break the absolute shit out of your car.

I got the security screws and bit from Parts Express. I searched several Home Depots, Lowe's, hardware stores, Radio Shacks, and even some fastener companies in my area. Some had the bits, but none had the screws. They were cheap from PE and they came quick. Every little bit of added security helps. I'm confident that it would take someone a while to get my stuff, all the while the 13 interior sirens are blaring and my 2-way alarm is paging me. It makes a smash and grab impossible, and most thieves will just move on to the next vehicle.

Dude get lojack early warning system and get an alarm with a 2way pager and a proximity sensor. If what you are bolting down has space for two screws put two different ones in the slot. Put a chunk of jb weld or liquid steel on the top of the screws. If an attempt was made and the person really want’s your shit they wont destroy it they will come back a month or 2 later this time for the whole car.

My friend just was hit last week and who ever it was, they took the whole car and left the alarm in the spot where he was parked. Also, invest in an outdoor motion detector light with a camera built in.

I used 3 different types of security screws on my setup. Basically, I used 2 types that are nearly impossible to get bits for and another for the fact that the location needed a screw that wouldn't strip easily and I just happened to have a bunch of security torx screws that fit that bill.

Like's been said, if they want the stuff, they are getting it or f'in up your ride in anger/frustration. The only part of my system that is completely safe is the amps. They are mounted in a location that has little to no access and bolted/welded to the frame.

Here are some good security screw types of you can get them. I get mine at Ace Hardware.

Spanner (Snake Eye) screws, TP3 screws (Weird design, look them up to see why they are security), Phillips Pin/Security (Basically a phillips screw with a pin in the center to keep a normal phillips bit from fitting), and if you need custom security bits/screws, look into Bryce Fastener...their Keyed-Lok system is a unique custom cut bit key /fastener system.

http://www.mcmaster.com has tons of various screws and bolts to help. They also carry T-nuts, threaded inserts, and just about any other hardware/material you could ever want. Check them out.

it doesnt matter what kind or screw you use, in a matter of minutes they all can be out. its very easy to drill out a screw. even though is done buy time if the thief cannot get it out they will just wreck it.

cut my cones, just don't take my subs. recones> buying new subs.

Those screws from parts express are so expensive. I suggest just getting some wood screws with torx heads instead. Those screws are very rare and a thief probably won't have a screw driver or bit that can apply torque to them. It will also let you put in and remove the screws whenever you want.
