Security Screws???

did you try asking any of the people at the hardware stores where you could buy them instead of just asking if they had them?

try going to a tool store. i don't know what the equivalent in your area is, but there are a couple stores out here, like Production Tool company. i'd try one of those.

if i were a thief and couldn't get something out, i'd destroy whatever it was in with a crow bar. security screws often cause you to lose whatever you're securing + whatever it's screwed to. i strapped my deck so it wouldn't come out and ended up buying a whole new dash and instrument cluster. get a 2-way alarm system, then secure your equipment with security screws. i only worry about it with my rims.

You cant remove one way screws well i kinda wanted ones with crazy heads or something. Thanks

Joe
you can remove them. they sell the tool at home depot, which i guess almost ruins the effectiveness of a "1 way" screw. they're mainly so that dumbass kids cant take bathroom stalls apart with a butter knife, etc.

Thanks dude so home depot should sell one way screws and they do not know what security screws are well i will go tomorrow morning. I am just trying to secure my car i just put in a Viper and want to put these screws on everything.

Thanks for all the help,

Joe

it doesnt matter what kind or screw you use, in a matter of minutes they all can be out. its very easy to drill out a screw. even though is done buy time if the thief cannot get it out they will just wreck it.

best idea is to change up the type of screws you use. If a proffesional theif knows and is prepared, they will get your stuff out, no matter what (unless forced to stop).

Use many screws, regular, phillips, square, allen, so that he has to change up the bits all the time which will slow him down. Also, put some crap into the screw (sillicon, some sort of puddy) that will fill in the bit making it flush so it is very hard to remove.

Also invest in an alarm that has a backup battery and sirens attached to the battery so even if he cuts your power it will still go off.

what if you're working on your car outside and its hard for you to get tha crap out then a thief robs you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

jk. but that is a good idea.

Thieves here where I live are usually never stopped by car alarms but are rarely ever prepared for something other than a philipps head/flathead to dismantle things, so something like security screws would probably get them to either stop or completely tear your sh*t up in anger.
