securing box in trunk

Whats the best way to secure your box in the trunk to make it harder to get out? Most likely bolting it down with odd shaped screws but is that ok to do through the box?

Yeah, I'd probably use some good sized bolts with the nuts underneath the car, odds are nobody's gonna be going under your trunk undoing those nuts. It wouldn't hurt to put some Liquid Nails or silicon on the bolt on the inside of the box to make sure there aren't any leaks, but other than that I don't see any problem with it.

You could also go with the way my car ended up, make the box so big and heavy that it won't move an inch and you're not getting it out unless you know exactly how to work it out of there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

L brakets work very well. they are some what visible though. but work great and dont take allot of work to install.

Im gonna bolt it down through the box with lag bolts so there is no head on the top. Only thing is how would you keep the lag bolt from spinning when u put it in and what to do to keep water from getting in?

If you are going to bolt it to the floor, the best way I have found is to mount the sub box without the speakers in it and go directly through the floor of the box underneath your car. Than have someone hold the ratchet inside the box while tighening the bolt from the bottom. Then seal from the bottom so the only way you can take it out is from inside the box.

Does your sub need to be centerd in thr trunk cause I have the spare tire in the middle underneath? So I wouldnt be able to bolt it down unless I moved it to one side or cocked it some.

My box is pretty heavy and hard to get it out of my trunk cause there's only one way to get it out.

Well idk how mine will be since I dont have it yet but I am bolting it down one way or another. Since it will be over my spare tire wich becomes useless, Im gooa mount my amp under the bolted down box so it will be impossible to get. It will just **** if I get a flat tire or the fuse in the amp blows.

get a good alarm then L brackets or heavy duty velcro

Im getting an alarm but when it goes off what am I gonna do? Im only 16, yeah I can run out there with a bat but will most likely get shot. So im gonna try and keep them away with an alarm or keep them from getting it by bolting it down. You still have to bolt L-brackets down.
