hey all.

I have a optima yellow top under the hood,

stock 120amp alternator on my 84 vette.

works good.

driving around blazing music right now keeps voltage 13.5 or more.

at times it can drop lower tho. - but it usualy perks right back up to the mid 13's

im about to drop my ohm load from 2 to 1 and use more power for the sub

and wana beef up my battery capability - by adding a smaller

(motorycle size) battery to the storage compartment under my rear

hatch area, ( the only place it will fit ) - I checked every where under my hood

and there is absolutely no place for another battery under there.

so

that gives me the ability to add one or 2 motorcycle size batterys in my storage

compartment under the hatch -

bad part - it is not sealed from the cabbin. - so deadly fumes from the battery could attack and poison me and a pasanger. so thats a no.

- is there any sealed battery cells in small er ish sizes that I can take a gander

at for my aplication ? -

the plus side for this - is they will be about 2' away from my amp,

so I can run wire from bat. under hood - to bat. in storage compartment - right up to my amp - is all in a nice line, no crazy extra routing of power wires.

any ideas where to get said battery above ^ at a good price also ?

I have also done the big 3 if that matters at all.

okay you will be fine with two motorcycle batteries in your car, your not going to get poisoned from using them. Its just a urban legend that if you have a batt thats not sealed in your trunk/cabin. It will kill you!

WRONG: The only thing that vents of batteries is hydrogen(and maybe tiny traces of other elements), so unless you discharge/recharge your batteries thousands of times and never open your car door and you somehow happen to light a match in your car, then yes their might be an explosion. But that is highly unlikely since most cars have vents ect in the cabin. So you will be fine running those batteries in your cabin. you DO need to look out for those batteries spilling acid though, so go to walmart and buy a battery box or make some sort of enclosure so they cant fall over.

You can go buy a 200+ dollar battery if your want to, they are nice batteries. But you can do the same thing with motorcycle batteries for wayy less.
