Yes, the are very good quality speakers. Vifa and Peerless are also OEM's, and have built/designed some speakers are a likely familiar with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

In all honesty it may not be the tweets fault tho, but the more people i talk to it's leaning that way

Friends looking for some 8's for midbass but we need 'em two ohm. I saw one site that had these seas and peerless but I didn't see much. With a quick google seach I saw seas seem to be a big HA dealer.

Any more input?

I honestly can't think of any 2ohm 8's. The IDv3 D4's might work....but IIRC they aren't too spectacular above 100hz. I dunno though.....

'cause it would be stupid to spend another 150-200 a second amp capable of 150x2@4 when there are two unused channels on a four channel amp that does 150x4@2.

100hz from the id3s might be all we need in this application. There are 6.5 midbasses up front but they don't produce low enough with enough output. Down to 100hz just might be the sweet spot.

How about the Rl-I's? I talked with a guy over there a couple of times and he said they go "pretty **** high" but thinks they might be a little muddy for dedicated midbass, even only upto 200hz.

I also put in an email to RE asking them if they could do some hodgepodgeing with some non-RE woofers. Perhaps they can come up with a woofer-RE hybred like they can do with the Hecca-XXX. I will see soon, hopefully. I've also contacted various manufactuers of prominant looking drivers but they refuse to do any non-factory work.

Yeah, or just look into an RE-8. Its a dual 4 ohm speaker, so 2 ohm if you wire it in parallel

But the guys at RE have said that the RE would not make a good dedicated midbass. I'm talking about woofers designed to be midbasses.

errr... i heard the xxx comps were very capable... and OH eD has a new group buy goin on for the EU-700 its a 6.5" midbass/subwoofer speaker.

Oh yeah....that's right, the XXX mids are 2ohm. And those would actually have pretty close to the same displacement as a lot of 8's.

And, like you said, the RE RE8 is a subwoofer, not a midbass.
