Well i am working on sealing my box off from my trunk since i have the subs facing forward. what kind of sealent are yal using around the wood when its not a perfect contour to the car.. just that foam stuff found at lowes that is used around window frames and such? if not what should i use.. thanks.

in my civic when i had an 18 in there facing forward, i just sealed it all around with pillows and blankets. it might be ghetto, but it cost me nothing extra and made a big difference

lmao u really must be poor.

Get the Great Stuff they sell a like 8 ounce can at lowes/home depot for like $6 a can max. And 1 or 2 cans can easliy seal everything off. Remeber it takes about an hour for it to cure, and it expands quite a bit, and it's very effective.

thats what i figured.. i used the same stuff when i put some fatmat on my trunk lid.. i filled it full of the foam to keep it from ratteling.. i cut pieces of mdf to go around the edges.. i just need the foam to go in the gaps..

Yea we use that great stuff ( MINIMAL EXPANSION ) in the hard areas sealing up windows or doors etc.. Like said above let it set for an hour or so then take a knife to whatever expands over ..

no, im really not poor. youd be pretty stupid to just start filling your trunk with expanding foam though. good luck getting it out when you want to sell the car.

well foam shouldnt hurt anything seeing that i wont be using too much of it.. my bigges gap is like 1/4 in so i wont need too much foam.. i just want it sealed good. and as for selling the car.. i wont ever sell it lol.. ill wear it out and then let dad salvage it out.. but in my car, all the foam i have already put in, did nuthing but make it quiter and is all covered and cant really tell any has been added.

Has nothing to do with it.. If you cant scrape of expanda foam off metal theres somethin wrong w you...but as far as cosmetics, a mdf trim piece would be the easiest thing to do imo

haha, believe me, i used to fill all of my trunk and hatch lids with it. the stuff is a pain in the *** to get off and is messy. sometimes you can get lucky and it wont stick to anything. and what kind of numbers do you want? what car
