Sealed box, how does size affect sound?

I dont know anything about sub boxes and couldnt find any help topics, so Im asking: when using a sealed box (sub is CDT sq1000 getting 500w @ 4ohm) how does size affect sound? CDT recommends 0.5 to 1.0 cu ft. for this sub. Does going bigger give deeper bass? What advantages/disadvantages are there to going small vs big? What is the connection between size and sound? thanks

Usually a sub in a larger enclosure will have a more rich bottom end and gain a little efficiency, but as a result may suffer in the top end

it makes the notes more rounded, blends alot better, makes it tighter and usually improves overall sq but IMO i like the sound of a ported box better. It seems alot clear to me
