switching boxes

im considering switching from 3cf tuned to 40hz to a 2.5cf tuned to 33 hz box for my onyx LS10s. these subs are a good 6 years old and even tho they have the same exact motor as SS rl-p's, they get no where near as loud as my buddies (ctminime) 2 12 rl-p's in a 3cf 30 hz box. i read earlier that a recone, even if the sub isnt blown, will make a pretty good difference in how a sub will perform. so, what i was thinking was should i build a new box or get my subs reconed? ive been wanting to get them reconed up to 12s or even 15s possibly...would it give me what im looking for? cosmetically, the sub could use a recone IMO as well...

well your comparing 10s to 12s, other then that from the post i cant tell what your lookinf for other then loud. your 10s are in the same airspace as his 12's lol

i would keep the bigger size for the lower tuning if at all possible.

Lows like as much excursion as possible

i just thought about that, and realized you probably can't keep the same airspace.

you should still be fine, if not ideal
