i'm gonna be running two alpine type-r 1222D off an alpine MRD-M1005 mono amp (parallel wired for a 2 ohms load).

two noobish questions: will 1.3 cu/ft for each sub in a sealed enclosure (13.5"x33.25"x13.5" with a .75" piece of divider in the middle) suffice?

will my amp be powerful enough to power the two type-r's in a sealed box? it should pump out 500w rms to each sub...

I listen to hip hop, rock (both old and new), opera (i bet you guys giggle at this), and some classics. I'm mainly looking for SQ, hence the sealed box, but would also like it to hit a little hard if possible.

any advice will be appreciated! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i need ur amp... i think u should not put em in a sealed box
$346 from onlinecarstereo.com

one hell of a deal, imo. quality auto sound offered to order me that amp for $599.99, so screw that.

I'm set on running a sealed set-up for SQ and simplicity, but am wondering what size I should shoot for.

this is the box design I got from another forum:

I'm also going to double up on the MDF for the sides and front. Why? Front: more stablity for the sub. Side: I plan to install springback handles and do not want to penterate the box and potentially mess up the air seal.

Comments, anyone?
