Sealed Box dB??

What would be an achievable dB for say two (good) 15's on about 2k watts in a sealed box? I'm really curious. My new build is looking to hit around 145 on music and I'm trying to understand how much louder (dB wise) it's gonna be than my 15's I have now in a sealed box.

Impossible to know for sure, but considering vehicle, power and subs, you should be in the low 140's with a sealed box. A ported box will on average give a 3db gain give or take. A really good ported box could give you a 6db gain or more.

140's thats interesting. Thanks for the info

I wouldn't tune the new box too high. You'll lose the SQ you've been used to with the sealed box. Tune low, like 25-28 hz for those 15s, and you will have that same SQ with way more output. FTW.

i ran 2 cerwin vega v-max15 sealed on about 1200w in my car.

it got me to 140,7db playing music.

it peaked @ 38hz :p
