Sealant question

i used alex brand caulking to seal my subwoofer enclosure with latex based caulk. im told that silicone can release vapors while curing which arent kosher with teh rubber surround on some subwoofers. will this latex base caulk produce those same woofer unfreindlies and how long should i wait before i install my sub? the manufacturer doesnt give a drying time, only a "tack" time.

It's actually foam surrounds that are most susceptible to being damaged by the fumes. But, regardless....I'd wait a good 12 hours before dropping the sub in. Check the caulk with your finger to be sure it's fully dried before dropping the sub in.
