Se Vs Sx

1500 wouldnt blow it... **** you can get a 1000000000000 RMS amp and not blow the sub... you just gotta watch your gain like a ****'in crazy. Thats what really matters...

now saying the SE is louder then the SX? how can that be said? the SE's RMS is only 600 so 2 is 1200.. SX's is 1200 also... so cone area is really only a factor... The sx can take about 1400ish tho... so I doubt there will be a big differnce expect SQ, and the SX wins that so I think SX

well, your rigth ill prolly buy the bx 1500, so either id be sending the sx 1500 or the se's 750w rms, so cone factor would be te difference, so, what se's MAYBE a little louder but the SX would have a lot better SQ or just a little? (teh 15 sx would be cheaper, but still debating)

can you explain this?

explain what, you want to think of subs as total power and 2 subs recieving 600 each is like 1 recieveing 1200, but since the 12s have more surface area( 24 inch sub worth) compared to a 15, they would move more air, so they might get a little louder, but the sx will have better SQ is what hes saying.

re-read what he is saying, he's stating that the 15 would be louder. and by that logic, any 2 12" 600RMS subs would be louder than any 15" sub that handles 1200rms of power regardless of xmax etc.

additionally, the box specs would have to be taken into consideration as well.

I think the output difference would be minimal between 2 SE 12's and 1 SX 15.

As for the SX 15 taking 1500 Daily, YES IT WILL. Just don't be a moron about it. I was giving an HC about 2500 RMS and it was fine for daily because I wasn't stupid about it.

Get the BX1500 and an SX15 IMO. It's cheaper, will sound better, take up less space (probably) and get almost if not as loud as the SE's.

Now get on the phone and call RE :p

Good luck,

Craig G

The SE's will get louder than the SX hands down, as for SQ I don't know I've never used a SX and I don't make preformed judgements on what people say....also SQ is subjective to one's ears. The old analogy for engines is the same for woofers; there's no replacement for displacement.

I'm about to buy 2 12" SE's on Friday (granted I dont change my mind) they will see around 425watts each and I expect them to decimate my 15" HC with 1200 watts on it.

I'd say go with what you like hoping you have heard both. I personally like the sound of 2 12's, but some of my friends and colleges on this forum prefer 15's, like I said it's subjectional.

thanx for the input, i think im going to just go with the 2 se's prolly in a 5cf box tuned to 44-47is with a port plug to make it 32-35ish hz,(that is if i can figure that out), unless i can will myself to buy one 12 inch xxx and still power it but the bx1500d

i got one question, would one xxx 12 under a 1500d brutus be really worth spending the extra 110 dollers over getting a 15 sx or the extra 40 dollers over the 2 se 12's. would the xxx have that much more spl output over 2 12 se's or 1 15 sx, and more does it really have that much more SQ over the sx and se to justify it???
