SE vs SSD

Nice, I was going to make this exact thread. Without having both subs side by side to compare, in my head it seems the SSD and SE are very similarly matched (we all know why....) so I was wondering which would be better for a more SQ/SQl set-up. I'm probably going with 1 10 or 1 12, hopefully ported. LMK which one you choose and how you plan to set it up..

lol @ type arghh
I say go with the SSD, get the extra options and i think you will be pleased.
well if i get one it will be the base option, and i was maybe going to go with the copper coil. so how do they both compare now?

oh and if the copper coil is on the ssd wich one will take more watts?

You said you're willing to buy another amp? In that case I'm going to vote that you pick up around 1500 rms and pick up the 2 SSD w/ copper coils for the louder of the 2 systems.... Louder being subject to install of course.

thanks for the suggestion but i dont have enough room for 2 subs, and i would really like to keep the amp i have.

Sorry about that bro, I spoke too soon. I'm going to vote for the SSD still just because I'm sure it will like the power better than the SE on a daily basis. Not saying the SE can't handle it, just mechanically the SSD will be more grateful

Not trying to thread jack, but I have similar questions. What about 1 of these two, SE or SSD, for more of an SQ-SQL set-up, 1-1.5 ft^3 ported, 500x1 @ 1ohm. I want it to sound good. I had 2 10" Type-Rs (sealed...I know) and they sounded like *** to me. I'm also considering the IDQ and OZ Audio ME....

well i guess im gona have to head on over to ROE to get some help.....this forum is sad anymore.
Please do if your going to make another "vs" thread and expect 4 pages of replies in a half hour.

But, on topic, go for the ssd like everyone stated, with flatwind and throw some power at the *****.

SE is know for SQ and low-end and are a **** good sounding driver, but my vote goes to the SSD

The SSD is a slightly superior driver in all aspects.

I have had EXTENSIVE experience with both woofers, since the beginning. Both woofers, in multiple sizes, sealed, ported, low power, high power, etc, etc...

Also, the SE is now made in china... not trying to make that a negative... just an //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
