Screws on my box/Sub

how tight do I need to drill the screws into my box, through my subwoofer? It is not totally tight, but it's to the point that they don't want to go any farther and the screws are starting to strip.. The sub appears not able to move, so it looks and feels tight. Just wondering should I use some tape, glue or just keep tightening the screws more? It is MDF or particle wood.

I have done some research, some ppl say to do it tight, some say not to tight..

My box is ported, so I don't need a gasket. Correct?

so your subs aren't sitting flush on the box? because the screws wont tighten any more ?pre drill the holes if needed .
Not sure what you mean by flush on the box.. I have bandpass box so it is hard to get the drill inside the box. But I hooked the sub up to the terminal. Started drilling the holes, some go all the way down until it cannot go farther. Some fo 3/4 way down and stop. I cannot tighten anymore even with a hand screw driver. Even when I pre drill, the screws do not go all the way down.
