dude you parked behind a traffic stop, and not just one, but two of you got out of your cars. If you were a cop would you not call for backup? Would you not feel surrounded (which the cop is)? You never get out and tap on the officers glass and bother them. it was you and your boys girl's stupidity that made the problem much worse. The cop doesnt know you, or your boy or his girl, for all they know you all have guns. Your friend got off easily, driving on a suspended is a criminal offense and he SHOULD have been arrested. Walking home is far less more hassel then being arrested, booked, going to court, having a criminal record, and paying court costs.

No they shouldn't have gotten out of their cars unless asked to, granted cops run into that a lot and these guys didn't know any better. However he did have proof of payment for the suspended license.

Stupidity is not an excuse, thats the officer's life he is putting in danger if he were to allow it.

But proof of payment isnt up to the officer to decide, he/she goes by their computer system and it is up to the RMV/DMV to have the correct info. I have seen what a state trooper's computer looks like when it gets a suspened hit, it flashes red and doesnt say much of anything, so it could be suspened for a number of reasons not just one ticket which the kid had proof for.

Maybe your right about getting outta the car, but what was I supposed to do, keep going? I was following him in a convoy to make sure the car got where it was going.

And the cop didn't call for backup, the other cars showed up too quickly. They were there just as fast as I could pull over & park it. We think some driver called the cops on us & they were just waiting for us to come down the road.

He had proof of paying to have his liscense reinstated. If you think that his computer has every up to date record and that some fat *** bish in the court or DMV has everything entered and up to date, you are a fool. Why in the world did they give the guy a printout saying he was reinstated then? If it has no meaning, why waste the paper.

I will give you a hint... IT IS AN OFFICIAL DOCUMENT TO PROVIDE PROOF OF REINSTATEMENT!

Techincally yes. But lifting your vehicle or lowering it technically illegal too. One of those things that are not enforced unless needed.

I will agree somtimes being a cop will go to a persons head but many things people see as a di ck move is procedure or done to ensure their safety. Your best bet was to keep going. You shouldnt have followed your friend with your hazards on either because then 2 cars were involved rather than one. Just let them do their job and if a mistake was made it could easily be fixed (if it were indeed a mistake) rather than getting in the way, which would cause the cop to get angry or do more than they were goign to in the first place. I have been there man.

Got arrested for "driving on a suspended" with the papers that proved it wasnt in the car, rather than fighting I was nice an accepted it. The cop let me drive my car to my house rather than tow it, then took mme to the police barracks, I went to court that same day, shwoed the judge and it was all done with. I bet if I was a di ck and gave him a hard time then he would have towed me and then some.

my brother also did the same thing as you and followed/stayed behind a friend that got pulled over, he was a dick about it and got arrested lol. You cant interfere with police business.

Computers and people are not 100% fail safe my man. If a mistake was made and it wasnt the kids fault, then the problem could have been solved much easier than having 2 people get out of their cars behind a cop in a traffic stop.

I don't know about you but I have gotten a reinstament form/recipt from the RMV and it is a simple paper with no stamps or anything printed in. Could easily be douplicated, which is why officers go by their computer rather than a civilians peice of papers. Would you be quilible enough to let a kid go because he has a peice of paper, when your computer is flashing red saying he is suspened?
