Screw the Police

Interesting. I thought it mechanically operated the cylinder inside the drum. I thought it was only a solution to a bad master cylinder. I stand corrected as well then. I am no technician either(obviously).
It wasn't the master cylinder that was defected, it was the cylinder within the brake drum itself. It has two pistons that push the shoes against the hub. It was broken. When it broke, the shoes where out of place; thus the parking brake failed to work.

Maybe in Mayberry. Out here you either have a shit ton of cops, or you have a shit ton of Sheriffs. In my area it is Sheriffs.
Sheriffs are elected officials. Sheriffs may have deputies. But there is only one sheriff. The people who drive around with sheriff on their cars are really deputies.

Maw fawkin car says Sheriff on the side, its a Sheriff to me. Not really a big deal in my life though. We never have interactions.

So today I was helping a friend get his malfunctioning truck home. It keeps stalling out on him cause a few sensors are bad. I'm following him with my car & both of us have our emergency lights on. A cop sees us & pulls my friend over. Within less then a minute there was 3 squad cars there.
My buddy couldn't find his insurance paperwork; but his girlfriend(who was in my car) got out & told one of the officers(a bich cop btw) that the insurance is in the glovebox. The cop flips out on her & tells her it doesnt matter, he's getting a ticket anyway because he didn't give it to her. He also had paperwork showing his license was valid even though their computer said it was suspended. He had an overdue ticket but he had already paid it, hence the paperwork. The cop completely ignored him & wrote him up for a driving on suspended anyway.

So they handcuff my friend & throw him in a backseat. I'm thinking that he's going to jail, so i get out, knock on the cops window & let her know that we had one of their family members who could come with a trailer to get the truck; trying to prevent them from impounding it. All she does is yell at me to get back in my car.

After they search his truck & etc; they come over to my car, gimme my paperwork back & tell me I have to leave; NOW. I ask her if they're going to impound the truck & which copshop I can pick my friend up at. She starts yellin again about us getting outta there & that the only reason she's impounding it is cause I said what I did & that I was telling her how to do her job.

So we left the scene; a little while later my boy calls asking me to pick him up. Turns out they impounded his car & made him walk home. He got a Driving on suspended & no insurance; and the stupid cop kept his wallet. We had to take him to the station so he could pick it up.

Sorry for the novel, but this was some complete bullsh!t like no other. I took pics with my cellphone of the cops & squad cars. My buddies gonna try to file a civil case cause he's screwed out of impound fee's that he can't afford to pay. Pretty sure he'll get the tickets cleared.
Sounds like that cop was a complete *******.
If he had proof his license was ok, then that ***** shouldn't have wrote him up for that BS

that cop can go die.
Um cops are not allowed to go by paperwork, they have to go by whats in their system. Yet another angry youth who doesn't know wtf he is talking about.

Can you be more of an ***, dude?
It was a shitty situation. Your friend made really bad decisions, yes. But, the point of this was to point out how much of a bitch the cop was. And I know what you mean. I saw a few kids drifting in a church once on my way home at like 2 AM. So I pulled in just to watch. A cop came, arrested me, and took my keys / wallet. My engine was off, it was cold at that point, and I was on the phone with a friend the whole time. More cops came and said I was "racing in the streets." The original cop said I ran from him, and hid in the church with my "lackey friends." Eventually, they let me go because it was bogus. They called my Mom (I was underaged) to tell her I was trespassing, and then, as the cop went to drive away I yelled, "OFFICER! SIR! I NEED MY KEYS!" He stopped, put his car in park, and threw my keys / wallet at me. Except I have a 1/2" Wrench on my key ring (it was my grandfather's wrench. He died, so I keep it around to remember him.) and it was dark so it hit me in the face.

I can understand why the cop was being a douche... but my car was cold. I was just watching. I didn't know it was illegal to watch something illegal. I guess not calling the police is illegal? IDK.
LOL spectating during any kind of illegal event gets you a charge, especially street racing/drifting.

I know this. thats why I said I thought the park brake only worked for malfunctions of the master cylinder. He is saying the park brake doesn't even rely on the cylinder inside the drum. It is all gear driven. I thought the park brake operated the cylinder inside the drum. The way he worded hios post, he says this isn't correct.

I have changed pads insides drums quite a few times when young. I understood what cylinder you said was broke. perhaps he thought you meant master cylinder then.

You can shut your mouth,

I personally know for a fact that in my area they will take receipt for the suspended drivers license verse what the system says because the system can be incorrect from time to time, and isn't always up to date.

Chances are they aren't that strict in his area, and the cop was just being a *****. So instead of doing the morally right thing, that cop arrest the poor guy.

If the guy wasn't dicking around with the cop to piss her off assuming he wasn't, I don't think he should have been arrested and the car impounded.

Yes he should have. Just for doing the idiotic thing he was. Well maybe not arrested, but impound the vehicle, sure. I have a hard time believing these kids weren't giving them a hard time. While I won't disagree that some cops are assholes. They are outnumbered by the ones who do have respect, so long as respect is given to them. In my experiences with the law I just haven't personally witnessed these injustices. I firmly believe it is because of my attitude and actions during the incidents.

Most of these complainers online are self centered and NEVER believe they are in the wrong. They always paint themselves in a rosy color instead of accurately depicting themselves.

Maybe, we won't ever know, I'd rather question the system instead of just the guy complaining, what if his rights were really being abused? That ticks me off, because I know it happens and has happened.
