Screw the Police

Peeling out right in front of a cop is not respect. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I didn't peel out. Balding tires + tires in a puddle + friction from turning = high friction on the rear wheels, causing them to lose traction. No TCS means the tires spin freely. If I were to let them catch, my car would've jerked into oncoming traffic.

Are you trying to say that me crashing is a better option to finishing a turn, safely?

That's disgusting...
It jsut finished raining, and my rear tires were in a small puddle at a stop sign, a cop behind me. As I went, my tires spun (poor traction and no TCS), and I let them spin throughout the turn because a car was coming up and I didn't want to jettison into the incoming lane. I figured it safer to just keep turning with my rear tires spinning (even though the RPM was at 2.5K). Cop threw on his lights, and within 10 feet, I was pulled over. He gave me a ticket for "Careless driving", going 47 in a 30. (This is an automatic V6 Mustang BTW, and I didn't even floor it. There's no way I was going 47.) and the cop gave me shit about my insurance card. It expired 5 days earlier, and it hadn't even come in the mail yet. He kept saying, "You sure this vehicle is insured?" I was being polite but thinking, "Are you dumb? IT WAS FIVE DAYS AGO! What makes you think that from then 'til now I suddenly stopped paying my insurance..."
Then it is official. People just don't like you.

I think the cops did a pretty decent job here. If they were lazy, they could have let this dangerous situation continue.

If your friend had done what he should have, he would have been money ahead and he would not have added to his criminal record. Namely, he should have had the car towed to the dealership for repairs so that it would have been safe to drive on public roads.

Putting your hazard lights on does not mean that you can do whatever the hell you like. That should be the lesson learned and the subject of this thread.

Logic overload.

Droppin' Logic like a fire-bomb.

But, x2. He should've fixed the brakes before he went to move the car.

I have been searched with no probable cause and ever since have thought differently of the law. I have also seen corruption in various local jurisdictions from news stories to stories from freinds. One thing that is for sure is all cops profile
