so i recently came across a cheap but good deal on a big screen. 61'' 1080i hdtv, 400 bucks. decent condition. Worked great upon inspection, took it in a pickup truck home and the screen alignment is a little off. On dvd's its not off much, with cable it's off more but i think that might also have to do with the cable source.....maybe...either way it's off enough that i want to fix it. The colors and picture are sharp as can be, i believe its teh projector guns that need to be aligned.

is this something with the right manual and being good with electronics i can do myself, or will i likely **** it and should pay how much for someone to do it?

yes.....62''. picture quality is pretty **** nice. i'm very happy with the 1080i, i just fuxor'd the picture alignment. i checked all the options in the menu and i couldnt find anything for the alignment other than an auto format option but it's still off a little. it's not bad, most people dont notice it, but for someone like me who notices it drives me nuts.

on mine, i could align manually. seemed to work better than the auto align. after a few years, i carefully loosened it up and reached in with a tack cloth and wiped the dust off the inside of the screen, the mirror and the 3 bulbs. seemed to brighten things up a bit.

ya cant find a a manual alignment. but it came with a a universal remote and i think there's a enu i haven't gotten to. i'm goign to buy the manual off ebay and see if i can find what i need.
