screen cuts on and off?

I have a peformance 7 inch monitor, when i installed it i used the stock dome light wires to power and ground the screen but now i have a problem, the screen is now cuting on and off,i hooked it up directley to the batterey and i have the same problem, if i keep turn it off for about an hour it works fine until it gets warm then it starts all over agian i just cant figure this out.

when i first got my indash monitor mines did the same thing and i thought it was the hu but then i later figured out it was my battery i had a cheap walmart battery and it wasnt enuff power for that and my sound so i went and bought a red top optima and havent had that problem since
