Hello,

I’m theowner of a Ford Fiesta Titatinum with the Sony Radio car + the original Sony speakers. Since the beginning I found that the highs of my speakers were quite loud on some music. So I went to a car specialist in France, at first to change my speaker. They advise me directed to add an amp / sub, telling me that the sound was pretty good but it lacked a bit of punch and bass. What I also noticed.

So here I am with a preamp / sub « Focal Ibus 2.1 » install by the car specialist. Indeed I actually have more bass but my speakers are always loud. I adjust the preamp through several tutorial that I could follow on the internet, which gives me this result:

Unfortunately, even playing with the EQ of my Sony car radio, I can not remedy this problem, especially that I can only change the treble, medium and bass. And of course, the range of sound that sparkles the sound, is obviously not around the treble and medium defined by Sony. So I'm going on an EQ app to Android (I only listen to music bluetooth with Apple Music on an Android device). Thanks to the app, I manage to achieve a slightly better result but there are still frequencies (especially on high-pitched vocals) that still scream ... I was wondering if we could not do something about it amp? It is supposed to "improve the sound" if I understood everything?

Someone would have an idea or advice?
Thank you in advance !

Thank you for your answer !

I learned about DSPs by doing a little search via Google. I admit I have never heard of it. I also looked at the model that you gave me but I admit that it is quite expensive. Besides, I do not know which mechanic can install this ...

And you ? Did you also meet the same problems in the treble with your Sony speakers?

I got rid of the sony speakers, subwoofer, and amp as soon as I could and went all aftermarket and I went straight to a DSP and did all tuning through the DSP.

Car audio isn't cheap.

Ah! So you have no more Sony speakers! And what would you advise me to solve my treble problem? If possible in the least expensive solution ....

On the other hand, a DSP is used to have more in-depth settings and better frequency management is not it? What do you now own as loudspeakers?

You aren't going to be able to do anything as far as tuning unless you go to an aftermarket DSP. The Sony system makes it much harder since it has pre set EQ and crossover points.

I put silver flute 6.5s and massive CT2 tweeters in place of the Sony speakers. Left the rears out. PPI 900.4 amp powering the mids and tweeters ran active with the crossovers from the DRS1 processor. Removed the Sony 8" subwoofer and put a Sundown Xv2 15" in with a Taramps DSP3k amp powering it.

You can use two front channels to power the full range speakers, then use the rear channels to power a sub. IMO, for that price I would rather use...
