Displaid is Eclipse SW9122 with a scratch on its rubber as you can see.

I wanted to find out from you guys...how bad really is it?

Is sub going to function the same? is scratch going to get bigger in time?

And how much does it cost to replace that part of this sub?

From that pic Id say not in any audible way. Seriously, it looks minor, especially if its not all the way through the surround.
with playing loud music --what are the chances of that scratch growing bigger?

im guessing high?

Not very likely Id say. let me say this, Ive never scratched a surround, so my experience is limited. But from the pics of 'fixes' holes in surrounds Ive seen around here, what you are showing us is nothing.

If you are super concerned, you could put a little dab of glue at each end of the split in an attempt to keep it from growing. But remember, a surround is meant to be flexible, any glue you add will decrease its flexibility. Id wait and see if the problem increases before I cross that bridge if I were you.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Ann since i haven't encountered this kinda problem before: what kind of glue?

and do you think this SW9122 with this little scratch is worth $160?

Like I say, Ive never done such damage to a speaker, and needed to fix it. But if I ever do such a thing, my first action will be to come to this board, and use the search function to find the appropriate glue. Its been discussed here alot, Im sure it'll be easy for you to find some good info on what to use. Good luck man.
As far as value, meh I dont know. Assigning value to used stereo equipment is hard enough, let alone some that is damaged (albeit lightly). Its worth whatever you can get someone to pay you for it... best I can do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Maybe someone more familiar with that series of subs can give a better answer.

Its not my sub actually.

I was thinking of making it mine. My buddy's was selling it on ebay - i didn't buy it.

He was selling it for $160shipped.

If you want it i can tell him to contact you - if the deal with the winning buyer doesn't go through (he has 0 feedback).

no its not all the way through- its just like a scratch--a little tair on the surface.

i've read people used:

rubber patch, rubber cement, silicone rubber, clear RTV silicone.

but which one would be the right one in this case?
