Scosche 4 ga. wire

I just purchased a Scosche 4 ga. kit online and I'm looking at this stuff and it doesn't look like it has any copper in it at all. No doubt it is 4 ga. though. The shielding has OFC written on it (EFX brand), but I'm a little leary. Anyone familiar with this product?

Scosche is extremely cheap. You can even buy it at walmart. You wasted your money. I would do a little research before you buy anymore wire in the future

It's cheap wire. If it works for you go for it. Most people use that too when they start out. I had it runnning my kicker comp 12's and a jl 250/1. Worked just fine. But now that im getting more into bigger stuff I've most onto zero gauge and name brand stuff. Not bashing on you or anything! Just letting you know theres much better out there, and if it works for you, awesome, but when eyou want to upgrade definitely look into some other things.

Might be cheap, but its definitely true 4 gauge. I ran Scosche once upon a time and compared it to my Stinger Pro cable and it was just as thick with wire content. Difference was Stinger Pro 4awg cost about 3x more.

Isn't wire just wire, like u can spend 50.00 or 5.00 on an HDMI cable and see no difference if all are the same specs, if is a true guage ofc I don't see y u wouls not use it,just BC of the name

I get what you're saying, but unfortunately, not all power cable is built the same. I am that guy who buys the $5 HDMI cable and I never have a problem. With car audio, you can't afford to do the same. Of course, if your system isn't super powerful, you can get away with it. Some companies advertise 4 gauge, but really aren't. Strand count is imperative and Scosche always shorts you on strands. Their jacket is super thick and thus tough to maneuver. If you measure outside both Scosche and NVX, they will be the same length. Why? Because Scosche uses a thick jacket with fewer strands and NVX uses more strands and a this jacket.

4awg of wire is 4awg wire with strand count aside. Scosche is a true awg wire. Jacket size is irrelevant.

Much agreed. It's no doubt 4 gauge like I said. The issue I stated was the jacket says ofc on it, buy it's not copper at all. I can't even see any when I did a scratch test.

So if they advertise "OFC" and aren't delivering, how do you know for certain that their "true 4 gauge" advertising isn't false as well?
