Assuming they would all be in the same price range, which would be the best amp for my setup. This is for a daily setup. The vehicle is a Toyota 4Runner. It will have a 250A alt in it with 4 batteries and two runs of 1/0 from front to back and the big three done in 4/0. I plan on running two RE MT 18" dual 1. So i need the amp that will perform best at 1 ohm.

I know the SAZ-3000 are under rated and will do 3300wrms+ at like 12v

I hear the 40.1 don't really shine until there on a 16v electrical.

I know the RF is also under-rated and will put up 4500wrms with strong electrical.

I hear the Z1s blow up, but when they don't blow up they put out good power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

As of right now I am leaning towards a RF T40001BD. Any suggestions though would be lovely. And please try and support your claim none of those, "40.1 FTW" claims.

kind of a bummer no one voted for the RF yet, thats really the one I planned on but thought id get everyone elses opinion first, can anyone tell me why the IA would be a good choice? Currently it has the most votes but I heard they kinda **** until there on the 16V or lower ohm loads.

rockfords are very power hungry

egg

anyone able to give me current draws on these amps at 1ohm or atleast what they will roughly draw?
Just count on most of the amps to do ~70% efficiency at 1ohm...mids 80's% at 4ohm if that matters to you.

I remember there being a thread about an orion2500D and it's efficiency was 85% at 4ohm, 78% at 2ohm, and 71% at 1ohm...don't quote me on this, it's just what I vaguely remember.

I had four of them and that sounds about right.

So now sundowns in the lead. I know there great amps but will it be enough for 2 18" MTs?

So pretty much I should get a 40.1 for a daily setup, is this what im hearing from the poll? it just didnt seem like the right amp for me but if its what you recomend than i will get it.
Nevermind, I see your first post now...honestly the RF would be a good choice, those power amps are bulletproof, but so are the ther amps you listed. Since it takes quite a bit of power to get full potential from MT's, I'd suggest getting as much as you can afford. Might want to look into a soundstream 6500D...

You can look up RF birthsheets some places and their T-series amps are typically in the mid/high 70% range in efficiency, if I remember correctly. Not the greatest, again very power hungry, but it is almost 5kW. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What about the Memphis 4kW or the Autotek 4000.1? Are those options for you? Not sure what the efficiency is on them, though. I think the efficiency rates for the Sundown and IA are pretty well documented on other forums, though.

Thought about dropping to .25 instead of 1?
