I didnt state anything about the blackjack noobx.
I was just speaking about wi-fi in general.

I see.
So, the best idea is to get a wi-fi capable phone and if I have wi-fi at work, then I have no requirement for an additional plan (data connection)

So, I should focus my search on wi-fi capable phones.

Very good idea.

Internet is good to have though.

but if you don't either delete or downlaod a program, can't remember the name as of right now, but when you go on the net, it will try to access the 3g network first, and that can become pretty costly if you don't have a data plan

i know you can turn 3g off, but i have read on the fourms over at att that when they try to connnect via wi fi it still tries to connect to 3g, just what i have read......been looking into the tilt for a couple weeks now just to make sure its what i want though

There are three settings on the BlackJack..

You can either turn 3G on all tha time, turn it off all tha time or auto.

No, because I guarantee that your work is blocking the same sites on the wireless network as they are with what you connect to now.

The wifi is for family housing and is independant from the normal internet.

I know this because I visited a ladyfriend who uses the family housing wifi and I know that site would be blocked.
