Thanks to TacoSauce, I've made this thread do list the top 5 players in the NFL in the following positions since 2002:

-Quarterback

-Wide Receiver

-Running Back

-Tight End

-Defensive Back

-Linebacker

List your top 5 for those positions. You can list them based on their stats, their talent, their potential, whatever.

Lets try to keep this clean of BS spewing, and stick to pure football talk.

QB- Peyton Manning. The best statistically.

WR- Torry Holt. Extremely consistant. Over 1000 yards every season he has played in the league (except his rookie year where he had 788). Great hands. Averages 84.3 ypg career wise, which is amazing.

RB-tough considering how RB's have a peak and then drop. But Tomlinson has been doing excellent except for this year.

TE- Tony Gonzalez. He's the best, period.

DB- Rodney Harrison. Since 2002, (keep in mind he's been injured the last two years, playing a total of 13 games between them, plus the 4 game suspension this year) He's accumulated 11 sacks, 9 INT's, 451 tackles, 9 forced fumbles and 33 passes defended in 63 games. Not to mention the super bowl rings.

Bailey is a great corner, but Harrison is better overall.

LB- Julian Peterson. 502 tackles, 34 passes defended, 32.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles and 5 ints. Since he's played basically 5 seasons worth of games, that equates to:

100 tackles a season, 7 PD's, 6.5 sacks, 2.4 forced fumbles and 1 INT per season. That's pretty good for a linebacker, considering he does a great job and is quite a utility man.

This should be kinda tough, especially at that RB position.

Why since 2002? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
It's hard to find players that are still active at the skill positions, that have played since 2002, let alone 2000 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, guys try to keep them to players that are still active.

QB:

Tony Romo, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Vince Young

WR:

Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss

Running Back:

LaDainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Joseph Addai, Marion Barbar, Edgerrin James/Marshawn Lynch

Tight End:

Antonio Gates, Kellen Winslow, Vernon Davis, Alge Crumpler, Tony Gonzalez

Chris Mcallister is overrated. At least this year, he doesn't look that good. I've seen him get beat quite a few times actually.

Vince Young is the most overrated person in the NFL. He puts up absolutely horrible numbers, and yet somehow he wins the rookie of the year last year? That TOTALLY should have gone to Colston.

no rookies should be allowed. Except Adrian Peterson.

Holy shit, you're right.

Warner + Holt + Bruce + Faulk = Greatest Show On Turf.

If we're talking about retired players now...you've gotta bring in Rod Woodson into the discussion of best DB. Better yet, how about Darren Woodson?
