Same power

I running the same power and wondering if i can get louder going with 2 10s in about a 1.75-2cu.ft. box ported vs. one 12 in a 1.75cu.ft. box? or if u guys have any other suggestions how to get louder with the same power

thats what i was thinking, but i also heard its better to go with 1 subwoofer with proper enclosure volume instead of going with 2, so im a little confused

As long as you have room to give the 10's their proper enclosure and the 10's are about the same build quality as the 12's you should gain a little but it wont be drastic.

i dont have time to search because im at work right now, but do you know if theyre are tens out there about 500-700rms that only need 1cu.ft. a piece since the most i can get in my trunk is 2 cubes? i have a 12 3004spl and am lookin for an upgrade

10" l7 600 rms but could probably take more?

if you double the cone area in theory you will increase the spl level. but you have to provide the subwoofers with more power if not the only thing you're increasing is low end frequency responce and only if you're providing the sub the proper amount of volume and tuning.

now one thing you can do is increase efficiency. by properly tuning the enclosure and providing the sub with the right amount of volume. you can increase the output by 3dbs or more. and still use a single driver. you may loose some of the low end response though. but you'll increase the output.

you can also use the same power you have now using, increase the output "not double the output" and maintain or increase the low end frequency response by using two drivers. but the enclosure has to be properly design to do so.
