Sail Speakers beside the back seats 1998 Firebird ***** Am Monsoon system

My speakers are bad and by looking on the internet I found that these stock speakers are not that good anyway... so I would like to replace them with others without having to modify anything... anybody have any advice? By the way I am a novice at this stuff so if you could keep your answers elementary that would be greatly appreciated.

just look up the specs on your car and see what sizes go in there. make sure you measure the mounting depth on your speakers, when looking at new speakers make sure they are in your limits of mounting depths other wise you will have to cut out or customize your panels

Also the speakers are 4 OHM/4 OHM ... Is there anywhere on the internet that tells you what speaker would replace the shock speakers?

I just found that your car takes a 6 1/2-6 3/4 speaker in the rear seat /kick panels that no modification needed,or 5 1/4 that use brackets.I found at Crutchfield.com, and choose car audio, and then choose your vehicle ,and place the info in,and what speaker you want/Fit.They have a decent verity of speakers on there.Most speakers/components are going to be 4ohm within todays market unless specified.Prices are reasonable,and free shipping on most.I liked the Boston Acoustics S60 component set shipped for 79.99 for what they had available for your vehicle and should sound pretty decent,as i like components rather than 2way/3way speaker.Yet it is preference,but as they say...shop around,and you will possibly find a better deal.Hope this has helped,and find the replacements of choice
