hello! so i should be receiving my sa12 today and i was wondering how much power i should give it and for hour many hours should i break it in? i have a hifonics hfi 1500d amp going to wire it to 1 ohm to get the most bang for mu buck, but plan on running somewhere near the recommended power to break it in, unless told to do something else. oh another thing this is for my daily driver, but i live in a small town so i only drive about 10-20 min at a time so i know my break in time will b longer than mosts.

Personally I have never broken in a sub and they have all been just fine. Just set your gain to throw a clean 1000 watts rms at it and bang away. You'll be ok.

yes plug it in and crank it up ..they can take 1k-1200 unclipped power all day every day..i gave mine 1200 each for 2 years no probs...break in is bullshit
get a sub with real suspension and say breaking in is bs when a sub cant move to its potention and your full tilt it heats the coil ......

cool story bro

break in is not needed for sa's....sundown has said they test them pretty extensively before they ship them, they're already kind of broken in and good to go

i didnt break in my dd9515 and it was fine or is that not enough sub
DD uses lighter spiders to make the claim their subs dont needa break in or they are pre broke in . i was refering to a sub with super stiff suspension . try pressing in a dc lvl 5 by hand and tell me it doesnt need some time for the spiders to losen

i agree not needed for sa's but is needed on other subs with a super stiff suspension
