sa 8... 20hz???

I was tuned to 27hz and bumped up my tuning to 32hz. Didn't lose any low end at all (I can still play down to 18hz with some authority) and I just gained high end and output. IMO, tuning below 30hz is a total waste

I like the lows...
I don't feel like this is going to be healthy for your woofer. Be very careful playing full power, and don't play any high notes.

I almost garauntee you can't even hear 20 hz. Most people can hear maybe 22, 23, 24. Just like the extreme high frequency hearing loss, it's the same concept. And some people just can't hear as low as others, just like some people can't hear as high as others.

My point, I wouldn't do this really.

I can hear 22hz clearly and 20hz if I play some tones

It will be much louder at higher hertz but it can be done. I wouldn't play much lower than 20hz though on any 8. Watch out for power put on it there could be mechanical issues with too much power that low on one. I recommend tuning to 28hz many people have been satisfied with that on these subs and you will still be able to play 20hz.
Exactly what I was gonna say. 28hz, you'll still be able to play down through the 20s, but the box will still remain a little musical as well.

Both in a vehicle and at home, the best infrasonic performance I've heard was from infinite baffle setups. No reason to insert a big impedance bump down there, just let the enclosure roll off naturally.

Audible or not, there are fundamental notes down there. The lowest stop on a 32' pipe organ is a 16Hz fundamental, and a 64' stop (rare, but they do exist) is 8Hz. Can't hear it, but it's definitely there in the recordings //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's cool that you can hear that low. Even cooler that you can play that low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes, but that seems irrelevant to what we are talking about.

throw a rotary subwoofer in that trunk and you can play all frequencies below 20hz with enforcement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif
