probably not that big of a diff. i do know heavier vinyl and higher speed makes for a better sounding album. Like the new metallica remasters on 4 lp 45rpm sets. IMO they sound better than the cd. But i also have a pretty nice shure cartridge and stylus on a externally damped O/S kenwood TT that i used to have in the other room with extra long patch cables so i could crank it up with no platter rumble. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif So most any record sounds great.

*****. i lost my custom built (one of my dad's friends built it in the 80's) tube preamp in the move last year. And have also sold off my pioneer sx-3700 and then my kenwood vr-4080. So the TT is collecting dust right now.

Dang, losing my Revox worth over $200 is bad enough, but losing something one of a kind is like a kick in the balls

I believe it was stolen as opposed to being lost. I left a lot of stuff there because my lease wasn't up for 2 more weeks , but i think someone tipped off the maintenance man that we weren't living there anymore. When i came back all my records had been gone thru , and low and behold all the classic black music was gone. none of the rock was missing. And it just so happens the maintenance man was a old black man who always bopped around when i would crank up some marvin gaye or bill withers. Pretty sure he knew what it was. The cops knew me by face and name there so i couldn't beat him and get away with it. I was in the center of the complex and had a RD sonance 15 as my HT sub on 750 watts and 5 velodyne cht satellites on 650 watts , and wasn't shy about it during the midday. I got tired of the knocks from cops so i printed the law that states i have to be metered @ 65db's on the property line to be in violation and stapled it to the door. Then stopped answering there knocks. LOL. My neighbor started the war over my g/f playing guitar hero with tv speakers. I won that war. She moved 3 weeks before my lease was up and i moved out 1 week after she did. LOL.
