Running wire to the doors

my door actually had a big plug that the existing wires stuck thru so that wouldn't have worked, so what we did was just drill a hole thru the metal into the door, and the same for the car body and left a lil extra slack in there so it wouldn't be tight with the door open...however now that i think about it I dont think we put any grommets in so those wires could be rubbing....which would be bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yeah if u absolutely cant get it thru the stock... "tube" we'll call it, then use grommets and get some rubber vaccum hose from an autoparts store to run the wire inside to protect it and make it look clean

Thats what I was figuring. Im a little hesitant to run it through the stock "tube" because its a honda and theres a ton of wires all cramped in one little "tube".

Thanks for the tips guys, muchly appreciated.

in my car its impossible to do that. The "tube" Has plugs in it on where it joins the car. This plug is almost impoissible to remove without taking the door off it's hinges. And there is no space to punch a hole in the plug to run any wire.

My jeep on the other hand was fairly easy. No plugs, So the Rubber "tube" was hollow with a bunch of wires going through it.

Well I took a look today and there is no way I can get any wire through the stock one, without removing the doors, which is out of the question.

So do you think the stock wiring in the door is suitable? I would run all fresh wire to the components, but put the stock wire into the amp part of my crossover, then tap back into it from where it comes out at the deck and run fresh wire to the amp.

Suggestions, opinions? I dont really want to take my doors off just for wires.

stock is fine. your not gona tell a difference, and you not running that much power through the wire anyway.

its still possible to run wire into a door despite having molex plugs. you will need to relocate pins and drill out the plastic.
again, drilling is out of the question without taking off the door. There is just no room in the door jam to do anything.

Will be using the stock wire just to get into the car, the rest will be re-done.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
