ok for my next system i am planning a dual battery setup with an orion 2500D and a US AMPS md23 (2X300watts). i have a normal battery up front in my car (interstate) and a 175 amp delphi ho alt but i was wondeinrg if i run 4 runs of 1ga to the back (2 +, 2-) and get say a kinetek 2400, will i run into problems with the batteries trying to equalize charge? ive read that its not a good idea to hook up 2 different branded/types of batteries like that... any input is welcome

Honestly it should be fine as long as you hook it up rite. Seems like you have the right idea. The batteries are the same voltage all your doing is increasing amperage when you hook them up in parallel. look at it this way. When you hook up a cap.. the cap isnt the same brand as ur under the hood battery are they?
