Running two Amps

Not necessarily true,Most good quality amps have built in cross-overs, and an option to slave another amp off of.I run a preamp eq in every vehicle, and I would recommend it, as it gives you many options to be able to adjust each and every song to your liking, rather than ..basicly flat settings/minimum.

it all depends on the amps, and the head...... and it would be an active cross-over/eq/etc, which can be found in many heads. 90+% of the time, it's either set by the head for separate sub and mid/high output, or one amp sends a signal to the other and it's tuned via amp controls, or both amp/head tuning. eq's have always been a luxury item to me, and that great deal on a bad-azz amp or sub usually trumps..... usually....
